Alè Chocolate — Alessandria
Alessandria's artisan-chocolate fair: for three autumn days master chocolatiers of the ACAI association set up along Corso Roma, Piazzetta della Lega and Via dei Martiri, with tastings, chocolate dishes in the city's restaurants and children's activities.
Why it's special
It brings a dozen-plus master chocolatiers from Piedmont and beyond into the historic centre and ties them to the city's own pastry tradition, with shops and restaurants joining in.
Programme · 2024
11th edition, organised by the Città di Alessandria with the Associazione Cioccolatieri Artigiani Italiani (ACAI): fourteen master chocolatiers from Piedmont, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany along Corso Roma, Piazzetta della Lega and Via dei Martiri, with tastings.
- The stalls run along Corso Roma, Piazzetta della Lega and Via dei Martiri; tastings are the draw, so come hungry.
- Shops in the centre join in with small sweet gifts and offers for customers.
Alè Chocolate is Alessandria's fair of artisan chocolate. Organised by the city with the Associazione Cioccolatieri Artigiani Italiani (ACAI), it brings master chocolatiers from Piedmont and other regions into the historic centre for three days, their stalls strung along Corso Roma, Piazzetta della Lega and Via dei Martiri with tastings and the makers explaining how they work the chocolate.
The city joins in around them. In 2024, the 11th edition, shops ran a "Bon-Bon Shopping" scheme with sweet gifts for customers, restaurants and delis cooked chocolate-themed dishes, and there were games and chocolate workshops for children, face painting and stilt-walkers in the streets. The fair had returned that year after a few years' break, and the city lists it again for late October 2026 under the name "Ale ChocK"; check the comune's events page for confirmed dates.
