Cocconato carries the Touring Club Italiano's Bandiera Arancione, the orange flag given to small inland towns for the quality of their welcome. Once a year, on an early-October Sunday, the TCI turns its Orange Flag villages into a nationwide treasure hunt. Teams register online, then follow clues and local stories from stop to stop; every stage, as the organisers put it, brings you closer to a single treasure: Italy.
