Calici di Stelle a Costigliole d'Asti
The night of San Lorenzo, 10 August, spent at a long open-air table in Costigliole's main square — local kitchens, the town winery's wine, music, and the Perseids overhead.
Why it's special
It's the classic Piedmontese way to spend the shooting-star night: dinner outdoors in the piazza, wine from the comune's own cantina, and everyone's head tipping back between courses. Built, in the organisers' own words, for families, couples and groups of friends.
Programme · 2026

On the night of San Lorenzo — the tenth of August, when the Perseids come down — Costigliole d'Asti lays a long table out in its central square and everyone eats under the sky. The kitchens are local, the wine comes from the town's own cantina, and between courses heads tip back to watch for a falling star.
It's a small, warm thing rather than a big festival: the organisers describe it plainly as a dinner for families, couples and groups of friends, and that's exactly what it is. By its seventh edition it's become the town's fixed point in high summer.
