Moncalvo in Maschera — Carnevale di Moncalvo
Moncalvo's carnival afternoon: a masked parade from Piazza San Francesco to Piazza Garibaldi with music, face painting for children and a snack from the parish oratory.
Why it's special
A small-town carnival for families rather than a big float parade: children in costume, music through the town centre, the Red Cross painting faces and the oratory handing out the merenda.
Programme · 2026
- It's an afternoon event, so bring the children in costume for the start in Piazza San Francesco at three.
- Moncalvo's official events calendar lists 'Carnevale in Maschera' for February 2027; check the Comune or the Pro Loco in January for the date.
On a Sunday afternoon in carnival season Moncalvo holds Moncalvo in Maschera. Children and families in costume gather in Piazza San Francesco, in front of the church that holds Guglielmo Caccia's paintings, and parade with music through the centre to Piazza Garibaldi.
It's a local carnival, not a show of big floats. The Croce Rossa paints faces and the parish oratory hands out the afternoon snack. Come in costume.
Moncalvo's events calendar already lists it for February 2027. The latest date is above.
