Cocco...Wine 2026
Cocconato's wine festival: for a weekend in early September the wineries of Cocconato and the Riviera del Monferrato pour along a 'strada del vino' from Piazza Giordano through Piazza Cavour and down Via Roma, with food stands and typical produce.
Why it's special
It has run since 2002, organised by Go Wine and the Comune, and it's all in the old centre. Each year the 'Isole del Vino' bring in guest wines from a different region. On the Friday the Salotto di Cocco...Wine is a sit-down dinner with the local cellars' favourite bottles.

The 25th edition. The wineries of Cocconato and the Riviera del Monferrato, plus some guest estates, pour along the route from Piazza Giordano through Piazza Cavour and along Via Roma, with Barbera d'Asti alongside cheeses, salumi, sweets and local specialities.
- Entry is free and the tasting is paid: a glass, a pouch and a carnet of tasting tokens.

- In 2026 the historic Centoporte train also ran to Cocconato on the Sunday from Turin and Asti.

Cocco...Wine turns the centre of Cocconato into one long tasting counter. The route starts in Piazza Giordano, climbs to Piazza Cavour and runs along Via Roma, and the cellars of Cocconato and the surrounding Riviera del Monferrato pour their Barbera d'Asti and other wines next to stalls of cheese, salumi and sweets. The Pro Loco and the Palio borghi run the food stands.
The festival goes back to 2002 and is put on by the Alba wine association Go Wine with the Comune. A couple of things set it apart from the usual sagra. The Friday-night Salotto is a seated dinner where each local estate pours one favourite wine. The 'Isole del Vino' bring in guest regions each year. At the entrance you get a real glass and a carnet of tokens, so you can taste at your own pace.
