Ferragosto Incisiano

Incisa Scapaccino's mid-August feast: four days of communal dinners, music and rides that build to the Fiera del Tacchino, del Bestiame e delle Macchine Agricole — the turkey, livestock and farm-machinery fair — on the Sunday morning.

Why it's special

It's a working farmers' Ferragosto, not a tourist show. The Pro Loco pulls the whole village out to eat together — raviole del plin, roast beef, a burger-and-beer night for the young ones — and come Sunday the breeders line up their Piedmontese cattle for the prize competition, with a stand of vintage and modern farm machinery alongside.

A tip
  • It's out at the parish sports field in the Madonna quarter, not the village centre.
  • The gastronomic dinners fill up, so book a table by phone or WhatsApp a few days ahead (Carlo 328 958 1808, Debora 349 234 2379); the bar stays open through the fair and there are rides and games for children.
  • Come Sunday morning for the livestock exhibition itself.

For years Ferragosto in Incisa Scapaccino was a quiet week — the town half-empty, the fields still. In 2025 a new Pro Loco, Incisa 1514, decided to bring the mid-August feast back, and the Ferragosto Incisiano is what came of it: four days out at the parish sports field in the Madonna quarter, tables set for the whole village, and the old turkey-and-livestock fair on the Sunday.

The evenings are the heart of it. The Pro Loco cooks — raviole del plin, roast beef, prosciutto, and a burger-and-beer night aimed at the younger crowd — with a cover band on and the bar open late. It's the kind of dinner where you book a table by WhatsApp and end up sitting next to people you've never met. Sunday morning turns to the Fiera del Tacchino, del Bestiame e delle Macchine Agricole: Piedmontese breeders bring their cattle down for a prize competition, and there's a stand of farm machinery, old and new, that tells you this is still a working valley.

The feast leans on an older tradition tied to the Assumption of Mary, and the choice of "1514" in the Pro Loco's name nods to the village's history. It's a local affair more than a tourist draw — which is the reason to go. Book ahead for dinner, bring the kids for the rides, and stay for the cattle on Sunday.
