Festa a Costigliole d'Asti
Four June nights in Piazza Umberto I — the town band, street food, traditional Piedmontese dinners, flag-throwers and dance bands into the small hours.
Why it's special
This is Costigliole out on its own square, not putting on a show for visitors: the local band opens it, the Alfieri throw their flags, and the trestle-table dinners are the same cooking the town eats at home.

The town's own summer party, and it shows: for four nights in the third week of June Costigliole d'Asti fills Piazza Umberto I with the sort of programme a place puts on for itself. It opens on the Thursday with the Complesso Bandistico Costigliolese playing in the castle park, then works through street food, DJ sets and two proper trestle-table dinners of Piedmontese cooking.
Sunday is the one to catch: the Alfieri, Costigliole's own flag-throwers and musicians, perform for the Memorial Vittorio Scibetta before the Cena Sotto le Stelle and a disco-tribute close. Friday and Saturday there's a hobbyists' market strung along Via Roma if you want to browse between courses.
