Festa delle Cucine Monferrine

Fifteen or so Pro Loco associations take over Moncalvo's historic centre for a weekend, each cooking the Monferrato dishes its own village is known for.

Why it's special

It's the region's cooking laid out side by side — bollito, agnolotti, local wine — made by the Pro Loco crews who actually cook it at home, in one hilltop town over one June weekend. Free to walk into, and honest to the last plate.

Programme · 2026

20–21 June 2026

41st edition. Around fifteen local Pro Loco associations set up stands in the historic centre serving traditional Monferrato dishes — bollito misto, agnolotti and more — with regional wines, live music and cultural tours. Free admission.

A tip
  • Bring cash — the Pro Loco stands are the good stuff and they don't all take cards.
  • It's up in Moncalvo's historic centre, so wander between squares rather than parking yourself at one stand.
  • Info via comune.moncalvo.at.it or the Pro Loco Moncalvo.

For one June weekend Moncalvo fills its historic centre with Pro Loco stands — about fifteen of them, each from a village nearby, each cooking the thing its own place is proud of. You get the Monferrato's whole repertoire in a single evening's walking: bollito misto at one stand, agnolotti at the next, the local wine poured alongside.

The point is that it's cooked by the same volunteers who cook it at their own sagre, so nothing here is a caterer's approximation. It's been going since 1986 and it stays cheap, loud and genuinely good, with music and a few cultural tours folded in.

Bring cash and an appetite; the stalls are the reason to come. Dates above.
