Festa di Sant'Evasio
Casale honours Sant'Evasio, patron of the city and diocese, on 12 November — a solemn Pontificale in the cathedral, a preceding novena, and the blessing and giving-out of the traditional Galletti biscuits.
Why it's special
It's the day the whole city and diocese turn to their patron, whose relics rest in the great chapel of the Duomo. The Galletti — little sweet biscuits tied to the medieval theft and return of the saint's relics — make the tradition edible, blessed on the vigil and handed round the cathedral.

Every 12 November Casale keeps its patron. Sant'Evasio is the saint of both the city and the diocese, and his relics lie in the great chapel of the Cattedrale di Sant'Evasio — the Romanesque duomo that anchors the old centre. The day runs on a Solenne Pontificale in that cathedral, the fullest liturgy of the year.
It doesn't arrive cold. A novena leads up to it from the 3rd, with evening Masses, and on the vigil the Bishop blesses the Galletti — small sweet biscuits made by the Confraternity, tied to the old story of the theft and return of the saint's relics. On the feast itself they're handed round at the cathedral, so the tradition ends up in your pocket.
