Festa Nazionale Plen Air
The Festa Nazionale del PleinAir, the camper travellers' weekend run by the Bandiera Arancione towns and PleinAir magazine. Cocconato takes part on the last weekend of September, which is also Palio weekend.
Why it's special
Cocconato is a Touring Club Bandiera Arancione village, and its PleinAir weekend lands on Palio weekend. Visitors get wine tastings with the local consortium, a walk round the historic centre, the medieval dinner on the Saturday and the donkey race on the Sunday.

The Festa Nazionale del PleinAir is organised by the Association of Bandiera Arancione towns with PleinAir magazine: on one weekend more than forty Orange Flag villages across Italy welcome camper and caravan travellers at their rest areas. Cocconato's turn falls on the same weekend as its Palio degli Asini, so visitors staying for the weekend get wine tastings, a walk round the old centre, the medieval dinner on the Saturday night and the donkey race on the Sunday afternoon.
