Festa Patronale di San Lorenzo — Olbicella (Molare)
The August patronal feast of San Lorenzo, run by the Pro Loco di Olbicella in Molare's upper Orba valley: two evenings of food stands and dancing, then the saint's day itself on 10 August with mass, procession and a last night at the stand.
Why it's special
It's the classic shape of a Piedmontese hill-hamlet festa, food stand, ballo and procession, held for San Lorenzo on and around his feast day by the hamlet's own Pro Loco.
Programme · 2026
- The food stand opens at 19:30 each evening; the dances start at 21:00.
- The procession is on the afternoon of 10 August itself.
Every August the Pro Loco di Olbicella, in the upper Orba valley above Molare, keeps the patronal feast of San Lorenzo, whose day is 10 August. It follows the time-honoured pattern of a Piedmontese hill festa: a couple of evenings of food stand and dancing in the run-up, then the saint's day itself with mass and a procession through the hamlet in the afternoon, and a final night at the stand.
It's a genuinely local affair. If you're in the valley in August, combine it with Molare's own late-summer Sagra del Polentone.
