Festa Patronale "Serate in Riviera"
Cocconato's patronal festa for Santi Fausto e Felice: evenings of Pro Loco food stands and concerts in Piazza Giordano, a Sunday dinner in the Cortile del Collegio, and the Fiera Patronale market on the Monday.
Why it's special
It's the village's own feast. The Pro Loco Pro Cocco and the Consorzio di Cocconato cook, there's a cover band or a tribute act each night, and on the Monday the patronal fair fills the centre. 'Serate in Riviera' nods to Cocconato's nickname, the Riviera del Monferrato, after its mild climate.

Cocconato's patron saints are Fausto and Felice, and their feast falls around the second Monday of September. The village marks it with three evenings in Piazza Giordano and the patronal fair on the Monday. The Pro Loco Pro Cocco runs the food stand from half past seven, a band or tribute act takes the stage at half past nine, and a DJ closes the night. On the Sunday the festa moves into the Cortile del Collegio for a seated dinner of local dishes, and on the Monday the market takes over the piazza.
The old name, 'Serate in Riviera', comes from Cocconato's nickname: the Riviera del Monferrato, for a hilltop climate mild enough for olive trees. Later in September the village is busy again with the Fiera Medievale and the Palio degli Asini.
