Every December Nizza revives its historic cattle market: prize Piedmontese 'fat oxen' and beef cattle shown off in Piazza Garibaldi, a Slow Food market alongside, and the traditional Gran Bollito served in the Foro Boario.
Why it's special
The 'white giants' of the Piedmontese breed line up for judging — this is one of the southern Astigiano's main livestock showcases — and the day's capped by a hearty Gran Bollito di Bue Grasso lunch.

A tip
- Come Sunday morning the cattle fill Piazza Garibaldi from 08:00 and the judging's around 10:30; book ahead for the Gran Bollito meals.
