Friciula Day

A winter Sunday when the Pro Loco di Calosso fries the friciule of the Fiera del Rapulé, the puffed squares of fried dough eaten with cooked salame, with gorgonzola, or sweet with Nutella.

Why it's special

The friciula is a fixture of the Fiera del Rapulé. Friciula Day brings it back in the middle of winter, billed by the Pro Loco as 'the original friciule of the Rapulé', so you can have it without the October crowds.

Programme · 2025

16 February 2025
Sun 16 February, 12:00–19:00
The Pro Loco's friciule, the original ones from the Fiera del Rapulé, served with salame cotto, with gorgonzola, or with Nutella
A tip
  • In 2025 it ran from noon to 7pm in the Salone of the Teatro Comunale, so you can come for lunch or an afternoon snack.

Friciule are sheets of dough fried until they puff and turn golden, a Piedmontese fair food. At the Fiera del Rapulé they're a fixture (in 2026 the Alpini fried them in the Cortile Rocca). Friciula Day is the Pro Loco's winter encore: one Sunday in the Salone of the Teatro Comunale when the volunteers fry them all afternoon, to eat with cooked salame or gorgonzola, or sweet with Nutella.

It's a small village food day, mostly for locals, but anyone passing through is welcome. See what else is on in Calosso.
