Evening tasting dinner in Piazza XI Settembre from 8pm, cooking by the Ristorante Dal Cin of Rosignano. Four Rosignano Grignolino DOC 2024 wines poured alongside traditional Monferrato dishes. Reservation obligatory. Part of the national "Notti del Vino 2026" circuit, with the patronage of the Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino for the second year running.

For one Saturday in August the pale, prickly grape that Rosignano has always grown gets the whole piazza to itself. Grignolino sotto le Stelle lays out a candlelit tasting dinner in Piazza XI Settembre in the heart of Rosignano Monferrato, pours four of the village's own Grignolino DOC, and sets them against a proper sit-down Monferrato dinner cooked by a local restaurant.

Grignolino is a hard wine to love at first and easy to love for good — light in colour, high in tannin and acid, nothing like the plush Barbera next door. Rosignano is one of its home villages, and this evening is the producers' chance to put the newest vintage in front of a table. It's a booked dinner, not a walk-through sagra: reserve by phone, come for the pairing.

The night sits inside the national Notti del Vino circuit and carries the patronage of the Città del Vino association. Around it the village opens up — the former Church of Sant'Antonio, the panoramic balconies, the climb to the Parco del Castello above the rooftops.
