A pan-European street-food and traders' market: stands from across the continent (and a few from further afield) set up in the city for a long weekend, so you can eat and browse your way around Europe in a few hundred metres without leaving Alessandria.

Food, drink, crafts, games and fashion stalls from across Europe and a few non-European countries along Viale della Repubblica, organised by Procom and Confesercenti with the support of the Fondazione CR Alessandria and the Camera di Commercio Alessandria-Asti.
- It's strung along Viale della Repubblica rather than the historic core.
- Thursday is an evening-only opening (18:00–24:00); from Friday to Sunday it runs 10:00 to midnight.
- Go hungry and graze the street-food stands, which are the real draw over the retail stalls.
The Mercato Europeo is Alessandria's long weekend of food from everywhere else. Each year, in late September or early October, stalls from across Europe (and a handful from beyond it) line Viale della Repubblica: street food and specialities from the continent's kitchens, drinks, crafts, games and fashion, with Italian exhibitors adding their own regional dishes. It's run by the Procom consortium and Confesercenti, with the backing of the city's savings-bank foundation and the Chamber of Commerce.
The food is the point. Alongside the retail stands you get a run of street-food kitchens cooking specialities from across the continent, which makes it an easy, low-commitment evening out — wander, taste, repeat. Thursday is an evening-only opening; from Friday to Sunday it runs from morning to midnight. It sits just outside the historic centre, so it's a separate outing from the old town rather than part of it.
