Pigiama Walk — Insieme per un respiro in più
A non-competitive charity walk through Acqui Terme in pyjamas, starting from Piazza della Bollente on an October Saturday afternoon, raising awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis research, with face painting, giant bubbles and a 'cyclamen hunt' in the shop windows.
Why it's special
It's a fundraiser that doubles as a town party: a short walk in pyjamas or a tracksuit through the pedestrian centre, with prizes for the most outlandish outfit and the most numerous school group, run by the local delegation of the Fondazione Ricerca Fibrosi Cistica (FFC).

- The route is about 2 km in the pedestrian area; look for the cyclamens hidden in participating shop windows along the way.
Once a year, on an October weekend afternoon, a crowd in pyjamas sets off from Piazza della Bollente. The Pigiama Walk is a non-competitive walk of about 2 km through the pedestrian centre of Acqui Terme, organised by the town's delegation of the Fondazione Ricerca Fibrosi Cistica to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis, one of the most common serious genetic diseases in Italy, and money for research into it.
The fundraising comes wrapped in a small town party. There's face painting and animation in the piazza, a giant-bubble show, chips from the Pro Loco, and along the route a caccia al ciclamino: cyclamens hidden in the windows of shops taking part. Prizes go to the most outlandish pyjamas, the biggest and best-coordinated school groups and the youngest and oldest walkers. Come dressed for bed.
