Stagione Teatrale di Costigliole d'Asti
Costigliole's winter theatre season — a run of comedies and one-act plays by regional amateur companies, Saturday and Sunday evenings from January into April.
Why it's special
It's amateur regional theatre done properly: seven shows across four months, mostly comedies in the Italian and Piedmontese tradition, plus a one-act homage to Francesco Cirio, the canning-industry pioneer from nearby Nizza.
Programme · 2026

Through the cold months Costigliole d'Asti runs a theatre season, and it's the kind you only find if you're paying attention — seven Saturday and Sunday nights of amateur regional companies working mostly in comedy. Gogol's The Government Inspector sits next to Camoletti's Boeing Boeing and Eduardo De Filippo's Filumena Marturano, with a mentalist opening the run as a one-off.
The pick for anyone curious about the area is "Cirio – Orgoglio Italiano" on 28 March, a one-act on Francesco Cirio, the man from nearby Nizza who more or less invented Italian canned tomatoes. It's all in Italian and all at nine in the evening.
