Stagione teatrale di Alessandria
The city of Alessandria's prose season with Piemonte dal Vivo: six subscription evenings of classic and new theatre and dance at the Teatro Alessandrino from November to March, plus a cheaper 'Off' strand of small-company shows at the Teatro San Francesco and Teatro Ambra.
Why it's special
It brings touring productions of the classics to the city (Pirandello, Shakespeare, Wilde and a Don Giovanni in 2025/26) with well-known actors such as Amanda Sandrelli, Vanessa Gravina and Lucia Poli, while the Off strand gives a stage to local companies. Several performances are audio-described for blind and partially sighted spectators.

The Comune di Alessandria runs its prose season with Piemonte dal Vivo, the regional theatre circuit. The main shows are staged at the Teatro Alessandrino in Via Verdi, a theatre in the centre that also has a busy programme of its own, from concerts to comedy.
The subscription is short, usually six evenings between November and March, and mixes classics in new productions with dance and contemporary writing. Alongside it the 'Off' strand puts on shows by smaller and local companies at the Teatro San Francesco and the Teatro Ambra at €10 a ticket. The season makes a point of accessibility, with audio-described performances for blind and partially sighted spectators.
The new season is usually presented in October. For Christmas in the city, see Natale ad Alessandria.
