Strade di Pietra e Vigne
A free mountain-bike excursion of about 20 km on the white roads and farm tracks of Rosignano Monferrato's vineyard hills, with a merenda sinoira and a tasting of Monferrato wines at the Forno del Belgioino.
Why it's special
It's a guided way to ride the strade bianche between the vineyards, hamlets and farmhouses of the Monferrato Casalese, the landscape that UNESCO lists for its wine country and its infernot. The comuni of Rosignano, Ozzano, San Giorgio and Cella Monte put it on with FIAB Monferrato Terre Unesco under the national 'Bici in Comune' scheme, which promotes the bicycle as everyday, low-impact transport.

- Bring your own mountain bike: the route is mostly white roads and rural lanes.
- Taking part is free, but registration is compulsory by 20 October 2026 with Lorenzo (+39 338 770 0810) or Tobia (+39 371 459 4675).
- Meet from 8:30 in the car park in front of the ITAS V.
- Luparia school in San Martino di Rosignano to collect your rider pack; the ride leaves at 10:00.
Strade di Pietra e Vigne ("roads of stone and vines") is a free mountain-bike ride of about 20 km through the hills of Rosignano Monferrato, mostly on white roads and quiet rural lanes between vineyards, small hamlets and farmhouses. It's an excursion rather than a race, meant for taking in the landscape of the Monferrato Casalese, which UNESCO lists among the wine landscapes of Piedmont along with the infernot cellars cut into its sandstone.
The ride starts from San Martino, the hamlet of Rosignano down on the plain, and stops along the way at the Forno del Belgioino bakery for a merenda sinoira, the Piedmontese late-afternoon snack, with a tasting of local wines.
Four comuni of the area, Rosignano, Ozzano, San Giorgio and Cella Monte, organise it with the cycling association FIAB Monferrato Terre Unesco, as part of 'Bici in Comune', a national scheme of the Ministry for Sport and Youth, Sport e Salute and ANCI that promotes cycling in Italian towns. Places need booking in advance, and you bring your own mountain bike.
