Cascina Rey is a small family farm in Valle Re, about five minutes from Asti. Three generations of the family have made wine here, and the grapes are still picked by hand. The range is short and local. Two Barberas come from a small vineyard planted in 1970: the Barbera d'Asti 'Stuma Dausin' and the Barbera d'Asti Superiore 'Dame 'n Basin', which spends a year in barrique and is the best rated of their wines on Vivino. There is also a Grignolino d'Asti called 'Il Bisbetico Indomato' and 'Sagrinte Nen', a white from a native grape. Barbera, Grignolino and Cortese are the grapes the family names as its own.

The farm shop sells the bottled wines and wine on tap to take away. It also stocks grappa and local food such as jam, honey and torrone. Tastings are possible but should be booked by phone or email first. Google reviewers describe a warm, unhurried visit with Monica, the owner, who shows guests the cellar and pours the wines with local snacks.
