Giuseppe Zafiri started this farm in 1949, up in the Valle San Giovanni above Calamandrana, and it's still a small mixed holding in the Alto Monferrato hills. Wine's the heart of it: a Barbera d'Asti DOCG plus the family's own labels — the reds "Dla lùca" and "La Fisa", the white "Garbato", and the sparkling "Vivacitas" and "Ribotà" — sold straight from the door alongside grape must and other farm produce.
The cellar's open for visits and paid tastings you book through the estate's experiences page. Valter walks you through it in Italian, Marina in English.
