Grasso Renzo is a small family winery in the hills about two kilometres east of Calosso's centre. Renzo makes the wine with help from his family. There's no website, but the labels listed on Vivino include a Barbera d'Asti 'Castuglio', a 'Castuglio' red and 'Campetto', a red from the local Gamba di Pernice grape. One reviewer also mentions a traditional-method sparkling white called 'Desot Banc'.
Visits are informal and friendly. Google reviewers describe Renzo showing them round the winery and the cellars, even when they turned up unannounced on a weekday evening. His son Paolo has given the explanations in English. It's still best to phone ahead. At the Fiera del Rapulé in October, Grasso Renzo's wines are poured in the Spazio Cantinone.
