Ca' ed Cerutti is a small family winery up at Cassinasco, in the hills above Canelli, making a broad sweep of Monferrato classics: Moscato d'Asti, Barbera including a Superiore, Grignolino, Dolcetto, Cortese and a rosé sparkling wine. The tasting room looks out over the vineyards and the hills behind them.
Visitors describe tastings that are warm and personal, run by the Cerutti family, who talk you through the wines one at a time and pair them with homemade local food. People single out the genuine welcome and the hand-painted labels — and a fair few admit they left with several boxes in the car.
