Ignazio Giovine founded L'Armangia in 1988, a small family-run boutique winery in the hills of Canelli. Barbera's at the centre — the flagship Nizza DOCG 'Titon' and the Vignali Riserva — with Moscato d'Asti Canelli, a Piemonte Chardonnay, a Cortese and a Brut sparkling wine around it.
Book a guided tour and you'll taste several wines with a platter of local products; if you just want a quick tasting at the counter, you can turn up, though weekends are worth booking ahead. Ignazio leads the tours himself in Italian, English and French, and visitors keep singling out how knowledgeable and warm the welcome is.
