Piancanelli, run by Silvio Laiolo, is a small premium winery in the hills around Canelli and Loazzolo. It produces a broad range across reds, whites, sweet and sparkling wines, led by the Barbera d'Asti 'Somnium' and the Chardonnay 'La Pietra', alongside Moscato d'Asti, the Bricchi Mej passito and a Brachetto rosé.
Cellar visits and tastings are offered daily by reservation (advised for all guests, required for larger groups), often guided by Silvio or his family and paired with local products. Visitors describe an unusually warm, personal welcome and the chance to taste many different wines, and the winery accommodates international guests in Italian, English, Spanish and German.
