Benefizio di Cocconito is a small estate in the hamlet of Cocconito, on the northern side of Cocconato, run by Pino Bo through the Società Agricola San Bartolomeo. Its former website listed about 12 hectares, seven of them vineyard, planted to Barbera and Nebbiolo with some Cabernet and Syrah. Every wine on it was DOC, including two Barbera d'Asti: the fresh 'Duveis' and the oak-aged Superiore 'Cocconito'. The Monferrato reds 'Vecchia Ceppaia' and '33 Percento' blend Nebbiolo with Syrah and Cabernet, and 'Vin Gris' is a Nebbiolo chiaretto.

This is a low-key operation. The website is offline and no tasting programme is advertised, so phone before you visit. Pino Bo belongs to the local producers' consortium and has poured his Barbera at the CoccoWine tastings in the village.
