Fourteen hectares on the Costigliole hills, ten of them under vine, run by the Bo family. The list leans local and a little playful: Grignolino d'Asti, a Monferrato Dolcetto, the Barbera Superiore they call 'Costiliolae', a Moscato d'Asti and a passito, plus two whites, 'è' and 'Marsetta'. Prices stay honest, which is a good part of the appeal.
This is a working farm rather than a polished tasting room — the old man's usually somewhere out in the rows, and the welcome's warm once you find the place. They turn out for the village's Stramangiando food walk with friciule and a glass; the rest of the year, call ahead and someone will pour you through the range.
