The Baldizzone family works Cascina Lana across around 20 hectares in Nizza Monferrato, out of a cellar that dates to 1937. The vines are mostly Barbera, Dolcetto, Cortese and Moscato, and they also make cugnà, the traditional grape-must and fruit conserve.
They set a lot of store by the welcome here, and the tastings and cellar visits are the kind you're meant to take slowly.
