A small family estate on via Mazzucco, going since 1968 and now run by the two Monzeglio brothers — Achille in the vines and cellar, Alessio on the books. Thirteen hectares, and the classics you'd hope for: a honest Barbera del Monferrato, the Superiore 'Schiavino' for the cellar, and a proper pale Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese. They've kept faith with Freisa and Dolcetto too, and gone digging for a nearly-lost local grape, Pulissiana, alongside a few rows of Syrah and Merlot.
Turn up and you're received in the tasting room, an old fireplace lit when the weather turns — no ticketed experience, no fixed slots, just the family pouring what's open. It's the kind of place where the visits are quiet and the bottles do the talking; the handful of people who leave a word behind rate it top marks.
