Piazza Roma

The 13th-century Torre Comentina, 38.5 metres of brick with swallowtail battlements, rises from the neo-Gothic Palazzo Medici del Vascello on Piazza Roma. In the square stands the Risorgimento monument of 1898, where a figure of Italy offers a laurel wreath to an obelisk within a balustrade guarded by lions.
