52nd Festival delle Sagre
For one weekend dozens of Astigiano villages rebuild their own sagre in a 'Sagre Village' on Piazza Campo del Palio, each cooking the typical Monferrato dishes they're known for. It's the 52nd Festival delle Sagre, the food-and-folklore heart of Settembre Astigiano.
Why it's special
The village pro-loco crews do the cooking, and between servings they parade through Asti in historic costume. It's one of Piedmont's biggest folk-gastronomy gatherings, and you get the whole countryside's table in a single weekend.

A tip
- Tastings open Saturday around 18:30 and Sunday from about 11:30 — turn up hungry and buy your meal tickets early, because the queues build fast.
- It runs alongside the historic Palio di Asti, so you can make a weekend of it.
