AstiJazz
Asti's spring jazz festival, run by the Comune with the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo as part of the Torino Jazz Festival Piemonte: a handful of evening concerts in May at the Teatro Alfieri and the Sala Pastrone, with names from the Italian and international scene at low ticket prices.
Why it's special
It brings well-known players to Asti's municipal theatre at deliberately low prices: €13–18 a ticket in 2026, for a line-up that opened with trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso and pianist Julian Oliver Mazzariello's tribute to Pino Daniele. In 2025 the festival brought the drummer Bill Bruford to the Teatro Alfieri with the Pete Roth Trio.

- The Sala Pastrone is the small hall in the Teatro Alfieri building, so the smaller gigs feel close to the stage; book those early.

AstiJazz is the city's jazz festival, started by the Comune di Asti in 2022 and run with the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo. In 2025 and 2026 it was part of the programme of the Torino Jazz Festival Piemonte. Its home is the Teatro Alfieri, the city's main theatre, and the Sala Pastrone, the smaller hall in the same building.
The programme looks both ways, as the organisers put it, at the classics and at the future. A typical edition has four to six concerts in May: one big name in the main theatre, and smaller groups in the Sala Pastrone, from swing and Latin jazz to young Italian players. The 2025 edition added book talks, a bookstall at each concert and jazz films, opened with an evening of Asti's own bands, and moved two concerts into the courtyard of the Biblioteca Astense. Tickets are kept cheap on purpose, to bring in a younger audience.
