Montechiaro d'Asti's Pro Loco runs a short autumn season, the "Autunno Montechiarese": the white-truffle fair in early November, a lunch for Santa Cecilia later in the month, and to close, an evening of bagna cauda in early December.
Bagna cauda is the Piedmontese winter dish of anchovies and garlic stewed in oil, kept hot at the table and eaten with raw and cooked vegetables. The Pro Loco serves it in the gym of the old primary school. Book ahead; the Pro Loco posts the date and menu on its site and social pages.
