Why it's special

It's an easy way into the Alto Monferrato countryside around Mombaruzzo, the village of soft amaretti. The 13 km route is set and supported, there's a refreshment stop, and you walk with a group instead of finding the farm tracks yourself.

Mombaruzzo is known across Italy for its soft amaretti, and every May it puts on a walk named after them. The 'Colline degli Amaretti' walk is a roughly 13 km route on the hills around the village, mostly on dirt tracks. It sets off from the sports ground in Piazza Matteotti at eight in the morning and ends with a refreshment stop.

It's organised by Experience4u with the Comune, and it's a registered walk, not a race. You pre-register online and pay the entry fee at the start. It's a good way to see the Alto Monferrato countryside around the town, with company and a set route. You can finish with a bag of amaretti from one of the town's makers.
