Mombaruzzo

A small hilltop comune in the Basso Monferrato (province of Asti), Mombaruzzo is famous for two things you can taste at the source: the soft amaretti di Mombaruzzo, an almond-and-apricot-kernel macaroon created here in the late 18th century, and grappa, thanks to the Berta distillery in the Casalotto hamlet.
