Fiera del Tartufo di Mombaruzzo

A one-day November truffle fair in Mombaruzzo, billed since 2025 as the Fiera del Tartufo Bianco dell'Alto Monferrato. There's a white-truffle show and judging, a food-and-craft market through the borgo, a truffle walk and a truffle hunt.

Why it's special

A small, walkable truffle fair in a hilltop borgo of the Alto Monferrato, where the white truffle is shown in the morning and the best are judged and awarded at midday. It's local rather than big: the village walking group leads a truffle walk, the stalls run through the centre, and you can book onto a truffle hunt.

Mombaruzzo's truffle fair is a one-day Sunday affair in November, small and on foot. The white truffles go on show in the morning, a jury judges them at noon, and in between the centre of the borgo fills with food stalls, local crafts and the smell of the season's tubers. The village walking group leads a truffle walk out through the vineyards and woods. If you'd rather see how it's done, you can book onto a truffle hunt.

The fair ran through the late 2010s, reaching its tenth edition in November 2019, with bell concerts, falconry and guided visits to the Borgo Castello. Then it went quiet. It came back on 9 November 2025 as the Fiera del Tartufo Bianco dell'Alto Monferrato, adding country dancing, pony rides for children and a painting show to the truffles. Treat the date as one to confirm each autumn. Recent editions have all been on a Sunday between 9 and 19 November.

Mombaruzzo is also known for its soft amaretti and the Berta grappa distillery, so you won't leave empty-handed. If you can't make this one, there's the San Martino fair in Canelli nearby. Past dates and programmes are in the table above.
