Why it's special

The band was founded in 1847 and its volunteer musicians still play at village occasions such as the autumn commemoration of the fallen. Its carnival concert, conducted by Maestro Cristian Margaria, has become a fixed date of its own and is the first concert of the band's season.

Every February the town band of Agliano Terme, the Banda Musicale Comunale "M. Gianussi", gives a carnival concert in the salone comunale on Piazza Roma. The band was founded in 1847, and its volunteer musicians still turn out for village occasions such as the autumn commemoration of the fallen. In 2025 it registered as a volunteer association (APS).

The carnival concert is its own evening and the first of the band's year. Maestro Cristian Margaria conducts, and there's sometimes a guest, like the soprano Manuela Tartaglino in 2025. It's a Saturday night at 21:15, local and informal. The date comes out a few days before; the last two are above.
