Festival Nontìscordàrdimé (Agliano Terme)

A late-September weekend of poetry, performance, music and street art in Agliano Terme, held in memory of the local poet and performer Ivan Fassio. Each edition adds a new mural with his verses to the town's walls.

Why it's special

It's a festival that leaves something behind. Each edition has added a mural of Fassio's lines to the old centre, so the town now has a permanent poetry trail of five walls. The 2026 mural was by the winner of the Premio Ivan Fassio. Around it there are live performances and readings at BAart, in a wine village better known for its Barbera.

A tip
  • Start with the murals walk on Saturday afternoon (17:00 in 2026, from the terrace of Bar La Dolce Vigna).
  • The performances are at BAart on Piazza San Giacomo, and the apericena on the church square was paid.
  • You can walk the five murals any time of year.

Ivan Fassio was a poet, performer and artist from Agliano Terme. He ran Spazio Parentesi in Turin, an open stage where artists of every kind could perform, and he died in 2020. Nontìscordàrdimé, "forget-me-not", takes its name from his last collection of poems, published after his death. The festival began in 2022 and is put on by Spazio Parentesi with the local association Barbera Agliano.

Each edition has added one of his verses, painted as a mural, to a wall of the old town. The 2026 wall was painted by Romina di Forti, winner of the third Premio Ivan Fassio. The festival opens with a walk along the murals, which by 2026 numbered five and make a permanent poetry trail you can follow any day. The rest of the weekend is performance, held on the terrace of Bar La Dolce Vigna and in BAart, the former confraternity on Piazza San Giacomo. In 2026 that meant hand-theatre, an experimental voice-and-electronics set, and monologues by Emidio Clementi of Massimo Volume, with an apericena on the church square in between.

It's small and a bit experimental, and it falls in late September, as the harvest winds down. The latest programme is in the table above.
