Up in San Candido, a small hamlet above Murisengo, the Ferragosto week belongs to a plate of noodles. The Sagra del Tajarin cun l'Oca celebrates one of Monferrato's old-country pairings: tajarin — the fine, egg-rich Piedmontese noodles cut thin as thread — dressed with a slow-cooked goose ragù. For four August evenings the gastronomic stand turns them out alongside other local specialities, with DJ sets and tribute bands keeping the piazza going late.
By 2025 the sagra had reached its 25th edition, which tells you how firmly it sits in the hamlet's summer. The Sunday rounds it off with games for children and a gathering of vintage cars — a proper village close to the festival.
It's a hamlet affair first and foremost, so the welcome is local and the portions generous. Come for the tajarin.
