Guasti Clemente & Figli has been making wine in Nizza Monferrato since 1946, and now pulls fruit from Monferrato, Roero and the Langhe. Barbera runs down the middle of the range — from the everyday Vinciarett up to the Nizza DOCG and the Nizza Riserva 'Barcarato' — with Barolo, Barbaresco, Alta Langa and Moscato around it, plus grappa and Chinato.
The visit is a guided cellar tour and a structured tasting of anywhere from three to seven wines, booked through the website; there's a wine club too if you want to keep the bottles coming.
