Fiera di Primavera di Asti

Asti's spring street fair: on a Sunday at the start of April some three hundred stalls line Piazza Alfieri, Piazza Libertà and the main streets of the centre from early morning until evening, with the shops open and entertainment for children.

Why it's special

It is the first of the three fairs the Comune holds in the centre each year, before the Fiera Carolingia in May and the Fiera d'Autunno in October. Traders come from several Italian regions, and the shops of the centre open on the Sunday.

A tip
  • The stalls are set up from dawn and the fair stays open until 20:00; the centre is closed to traffic from 5:00.
  • It runs along Corso Alfieri from Piazza Alfieri towards Via Bocca, so you can walk it in a loop from Piazza Libertà through Piazza Alfieri and down Corso Dante.
  • Check the date when Easter is early: in 2026 the fair was brought forward a week to 29 March.
  • Info: Comune di Asti, manifestazioni@comune.asti.it.

The Fiera di Primavera is Asti's spring fair, the first of the three big street fairs the Comune holds in the historic centre each year. On a Sunday at the start of April the stalls go up before dawn along the main streets: around Piazza Alfieri, across Piazza Libertà, along Corso Dante and Viale alla Vittoria, and up Corso Alfieri, the long main street of the old town.

There are around three hundred traders selling a wide range of goods, food and non-food, and the shops of the centre open their doors for the day. There is entertainment for children, and the fair stays open until the evening.

The rule is simple: the first Sunday of April, unless it falls on Easter, in which case the fair moves. Later in the year come the Fiera Carolingia in May and the Fiera di Autunno in October. On the fourth Sunday of each month there is also the antiques market in Piazza Alfieri. See what else there is to do in Asti.
