Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo di San Damiano d'Asti
San Damiano d'Asti's national white-truffle fair: a truffle and local-produce market in Piazza Libertà and Via Roma, prizes for the best truffles, simulated truffle hunts and truffle dishes at the Pro Loco stands. Until 2025 it was held around All Saints together with the old Fiera dei Santi; in 2026 it moves to the first weekend of December.
Why it's special
A truffle fair with national status in a market town between Asti and the Roero: the local trifolau bring their finds to the piazza, the best truffles are judged and awarded at midday, and you can follow a simulated hunt, by night in the village's educational truffle grove or in the 'bosco in piazza' set up in the square. The Enoteca Regionale Colline Alfieri pours the local wines.

- It's all around Piazza Libertà.
- The Saturday-evening simulated truffle hunt in the San Luigi truffle grove leaves from the piazza; on Sunday the market runs all day and the food stands open at lunchtime.
- Since 2026 the Fiera dei Santi, the agricultural-machinery and street-market fair that used to share the weekend, has its own date in early November (see Fiera dei Santi di San Damiano d'Asti).
San Damiano d'Asti sits on the road between Asti and the Roero, in hill country of woods, hazelnut groves and vineyards where white truffles are found every autumn. Its truffle fair has national status, and in recent years it ran over the All Saints weekend together with the Fiera dei Santi, the town's old autumn fair of farm machinery and street stalls. In 2026 the two separate: the Fiera dei Santi stays in early November, and the truffle fair moves to the first weekend of December, joining the 'Terre del Bianco' circuit of truffle fairs in the province of Asti.
The fair centres on Piazza Libertà and Via Roma. On the Saturday evening the local truffle hunters' association takes visitors into its educational truffle grove at San Luigi for a simulated hunt with the dogs. On Sunday the market of truffles and local produce fills the square from the morning, the fair is opened at 11:00, the best truffles are judged and awarded at midday, and the Pro Loco opens its stands of truffle dishes for lunch, with the wines of the Enoteca Regionale Colline Alfieri.
The same month, San Damiano also holds its living nativity and the Fiera Storica del Cappone, so December is a good time to visit. Asti's own national truffle fair follows a week later.
