Why it's special

It is the rides part of Canelli's old San Martin fair, set up in the square in front of the Gancia cellars, and it stays open every day long after the fair weekend is over. Bumper cars, a big wheel, a Tagadà and rides for small children are the usual line-up.

The travelling luna park on the raised part of Piazza Carlo Gancia, open every day for the run.

• Entry to the square is free and you pay per ride.
• In 2025 there was a €2-a-ride day on the first Sunday (prize and timed games excluded); look out for the same offer.
• While the rides are up, Canelli's Tuesday and Friday market moves to Piazza Cavour, Piazza Zoppa and the rest of Piazza Gancia.
• Come on the truffle-fair Sunday and you get the rides, more than a hundred San Martin stalls and the truffle market on the same walk.

Every autumn a travelling luna park sets up in Piazza Carlo Gancia, the big square by the Gancia cellars at the edge of the centre of Canelli. It arrives at the end of October, usually opening around Halloween, and stays for about two and a half weeks, into mid-November.

The rides belong to the old Fiera di San Martin, the November fair when sharecroppers once came down to town to sign their contracts and then celebrated with music, dancing, tripe and rides for the children. Today the fair day is paired with the town's national truffle fair, the Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo e Fiera di San Martin, and the luna park is open before and well after it. Expect the classics: bumper cars, a big wheel, a Tagadà and gentler rides for small children.

Each year's dates are above. The comune publishes them in its November traffic ordinance in mid-October, before any poster appears.
