Mostra "Sarah's Ark" — Sarah Bowyer (BAart, Agliano Terme)

An autumn solo show at BAart in Agliano Terme. 'Sarah's Ark' by the Italian-British artist Sarah Bowyer shows twelve works on fabric, a contemporary Noah's Ark of exotic animals, carnivorous flowers and a mysterious female figure. Free entry.

Why it's special

Bowyer won the 2025 Ivan Fassio call, and her works are made by bleaching colour out of monochrome canvas. She reworks the biblical ark as an act of care for animals and for women. The show is part of DegustArt, so on Sundays there's a glass of Barbera d'Asti from local producers to go with it.

Through the autumn of 2026 BAart, the former confraternity of San Michele on Piazza San Giacomo, is showing 'Sarah's Ark' by the Italian-British artist Sarah Bowyer. The twelve works are on monochrome fabric, worked by bleaching the colour out rather than painting it on. They make an ark full of exotic animals, carnivorous flowers and a mysterious woman. Bowyer turns the Noah story from a rescue of man and his pairs into an act of care for animals and for women.

The show opened during the Festival Nontìscordàrdimé, and Bowyer has also painted one of the festival's poetry murals in the town. It's part of DegustArt, BAart's season of art and wine with the Barbera d'Asti consortium, so on Sundays visitors get a glass of local Barbera. Entry is free. Dates and hours are above.
