Rally Vigneti Monferrini
Canelli's spring car rally: a national-calendar round of the Coppa Rally di Zona 2 on the vineyard roads around Canelli, Loazzolo and San Marzano Oliveto, with a historic-car rally alongside.
Why it's special
It brings around a hundred crews to the Moscato hills for a weekend, and the stages run on narrow roads between the vineyards rather than through empty countryside. The town fills up: in 2026 the hotels were booked out weeks ahead.
Programme · 2026
9th Rally Vigneti Monferrini with the 3rd Rally Vigneti Monferrini Storico, organised by the VM Motor Team; a round of the Coppa Rally di Zona 2. 91 starters, 71 finishers.
- The racing is on the Sunday, with the start and finish in the centre of Canelli.
- Roads on the special stages close for the day, so check the route and arrive before the closures.
- Book a room early: in 2026 Canelli's accommodation was full weeks before the race.
The Rally Vigneti Monferrini is Canelli's spring rally, run by the VM Motor Team since 2018. It counts for the Coppa Rally di Zona 2, the regional rally cup, and draws around a hundred crews, plus a field of historic cars in the Rally Vigneti Monferrini Storico.
The cars start and finish in the middle of town, in Piazza Cavour and Piazza Gancia, and the special stages climb into the Moscato and Barbera hills around Canelli; stages have been named after Loazzolo, San Marzano Oliveto and, fittingly, Asti Spumante. For a weekend the bars and restaurants are full of crews and fans.
The same team runs the autumn Ronde Colli del Monferrato e del Moscato. Each year's date, stages and winners are above.
