Acquedotto Romano

The surviving arches of this roughly 2,000-year-old aqueduct — once about 12 km long, carrying water down from the hills into town — are among the best-preserved Roman remains in northern Italy. They stand in a riverside park with benches, a playground and cycle paths, free to reach but a fair walk out from the centre. Sunset is the moment for photographs.
