Castello dei Paleologi

The brick fortress on its low hill takes its name from the Palaiologos dynasty that ruled Monferrato for centuries; inside it holds the civic archaeological museum and a small botanical garden dotted with sculpture. The grounds and their panoramic view over Acqui are free to walk, and the museum itself runs only a few euros.
